Open Dreams partners with COWED to celebrate World Aviva Week
Open Dreams Cameroon in partnership with COWED celebrates World AVIVA week on December 18, and 19 at the Campus of the University of Bamenda, Cameroon.
The World Aviva week is commemorated every December to promote mother and child health by engaging health practitioners, communities and other stake holders to prevent neonatal dysfunctions. The day is celebrated in honour of baby Aviva Lilia who died from a congenital dysfunction just months after birth. This year 2025, it is celebrated under the theme : “Giving Every Child a Strong Start”
In the city of Bamenda and other parts of Cameroon, the week is commemorated through awareness campaigns, hospital visits, free health screenings, blood donations, and fundraising for medical care, to give newborn babies and their mothers a strong start and foster hope for individuals and families facing health challenges.
